JEREMIAH 29:7 “SEEK THE PEACE AND PROSPERITY OF THE CITY TO WHICH I HAVE CARRIED YOU INTO EXILE. PRAY TO THE LORD FOR IT, BECAUSE IF IT PROSPERS, YOU TOO WILL PROSPER.”
This principle of living is just as true today. Christians often feel like they are living in exile like the Jews in Babylon. They deprecate the hateful politics and backbiting of our culture. Trying to chose between political parties where each offers less than the optimum is difficult but we live by this same Jeremiah principle. PRAY FOR THE PEACE AND PROSPERITY OF OUR COUNTRY. If our country has peace and prosperity, we will FIND IT IN OUR LIVES TOO. Like it or not, we are inextricably linked to the society we live within.
