PSALM 82:3-4 “DEFEND THE WEAK AND THE FATHERLESS, UPHOLD THE CAUSE OF THE POOR AND THE OPPRESSED. RESCUE THE WEAK AND THE NEEDY AND DELIVER THEM FROM THE HAND OF THE WICKED.”
Worship to God is about looking outside ourselves and thinking about the welfare of others. Reading scripture is a study in the importance of COMPASSION. We’re taught to look out for the welfare of those less fortunate than ourselves. And when we do, we can reflect and then remark, “How fortunate to be blessed by being the GIVER rather than the TAKER at this very moment.”
