INSTRUCTIONS ON HANDLING GRIEF

POWER POSTS from Paul

POWER POST FOR THE WEEK
I know you’re busy but here’s your SPIRIT inspired POWER POST guaranteed to help you through the week:

PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7 DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IN EVERYTHING, BY PRAYER AND PETITION WITH THANKSGIVING, PRESENT YOUR REQUESTS TO GOD. AND THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH TRANSCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING, WILL GUARD YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS”

With a heavy heart I have repeated this verse often. Once more, with the death of my middle-aged son, having just died of leukemia after a year’s battle, this message again has added significance. Immediately and instinctively, I went back to these instructions from the Lord on HOW TO HANDLE GRIEF. At times like this we’re urged to make our petitions to God. In MY case I prayed God’s Spirit would be with my son in his journey and that we, those close to him, might have the PEACE OF GOD, the divine serenity, to go on living. I do feel the CALMNESS AND CONFIDENCE he promised. Where else can anyone turn at times like this?

READ THESE NEXT LINES ONLY IF YOU HAVEN’T BEFORE
I’ve found there is power pent up in the phrases from the Bible. They have been read, repeated aloud and pondered for several thousand years. In hours of need when I want direction, comfort or wisdom and God’s spirit I find these phrases help me feel connected to the millions of people before me who have been inspired by these same words. I feel when I repeat these words I am unlocking the spirit that inspired those original first words. I feel at peace and grateful for any help that comes from above. I send a new phrase and a few sentence commentary once a week. Look for them in the future.
