COMPASSION is a hugh part of Christian Agape Love. Before Jesus coming, one way to recommend COMPASSION was to stress the REWARD that accrues to those who love. Jesus displayed a whole new dimension of love though. Blessed is the one who senses the need to show fellow feeling WITHOUT any thought of REWARD, except the reward of inherent satisfaction of doing good as Jesus demonstrated.
