MATTHEW 11:30 JESUS:: “FOR MY YOKE IS EASY AND MY BURDEN IS LIGHT.”
Many who contemplate the life of Jesus are impressed but feel they could never live up to His standards. But in Jesus’ own words he encourages us. This is one of the many paradoxes of scripture. Jesus’ standards are high but how can they be EASY so follow? First, all he asks is that we try, knowing we never will attain His perfection in a physical body. Therefore, there is NO PRESSURE.Second, He promises to sustain us with HIS ENERGIZING SPIRIT once we start the course. Third, we feel so good about the change we experience, we’re DELIGHTED TO CONTINUE, and many more reasons which we find out for ourselves when we accept his invitation to follow.
