2 THESSALONIANS 1:9 “THEY WILL BE PUNISHED WITH EVERLASTING DESTRUCTION SHUT OUT FROM THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD AND THE MAJESTY OF HIS POWER”
To me the worst punishment I could conceive of is what St Paul describes here. Can you imagine standing before God, finally realizing how selfish and horrible you lived, and to be told you’ll never see God again. You’ll realize the one virtue that could help you through anything HOPE, is lost forever. To have no hope would be excrutiating. Thankfully, what life is like for you now, you, at least, have hope things can get better.
